We know booking the right photographer or videographer can be challenging, especially if you don’t know much about the people behind the camera. We wanted to help combat that by telling you a little bit about who we are and how we run our business!
OUR STORY
Mitch is a midwest native who got his start in the digital media world as a photographer and graphic designer. Rachel is an East-coast gal who went to school to study her passion, videography.
Our love for photography and videography came in different ways. Mitch was obsessed with photography right when he got his first digital camera at the age of 10. Rachel got involved with videography for the first time doing live camera work at her church when she was in high school.
Our love for this creative field has only grown since.
We met in 2014 while Rachel was doing a video internship in Mitch’s hometown. We dated long distance for two years until we finally got married in 2016. A friend asked us to shoot their wedding a few months later, and Mitch and Rachel Visuals was officially born.
In the early days, we never actually set out to make this our career, but after things took off, we decided to pursue this full-time, and we are so thankful we did! This year we are celebrating a decade of business.
Things look a little different than they did back then, in a good way. Now we have 2 boys and are loving this season of parenting while continuing to capture the most special moments of people’s lives.
God has blessed us so much in our journey of finding each other and also giving us similar passions in our work. Before meeting each other, we enjoyed this field, but now that we get to do it together, it’s the best!
OUR BUSINESS
One of the things we strive to keep at the heart of our business is treating people how we’d want to be treated. For our own wedding, we wanted the photos and videos to be timeless, something we look back on and are proud of for years to come. We also wanted our photographers and videographers to bring a calm but fun atmosphere, that helped us feel relaxed so we could open up.
Those are two of the biggest things we strive to bring to the table on your wedding day and beyond.
We are always working harder to deliver an elegant product that will stand the test of time, while making the process of capturing those photos and videos super easy and fun for you (and/or the family)! It is also important to us that we are always investing in the newest cameras, lenses, computers, and software—in addition to continually educating ourselves to add to our 25+ years of combined professional experience—to help give you the best possible product.
